All About Pasta: Smoked Paprika Cream Cheese Carbonara


Smoked Paprika Cream Cheese Carbonara

Ingredients:
Pasta of your choice (cooked as per packet instructions)
150g Bacon (chopped)
1 medium Onion (chopped)
2 tbsp Garlic (chopped)
3/4 cup Mushrooms of your choice (sliced)
1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
1/4 tsp Dried basil
1/4 tsp Ground pepper
2 cups Milk
1/2 cup Cream cheese (cut in cubes)
2 tbsp Parmesan cheese

Serves 3-4 people.


Directions:
  1. Place the bacon in a heated pan with no oil. Let sweat in its own fat for about 3 minutes.
  2. Stir in the onions and cook for about a minute or until translucent.
  3. Add in the garlic and sauté for a few seconds.
  4. Add the mushrooms and sauté for about 3 minutes.
  5. Season with paprika, basil and pepper.
  6. Add the milk and cream cheese. Simmer for about 3 more minutes.

  7. Serve over the cooked pasta and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Plate and Enjoy! :)
