Ma Po Tofu
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp Vegetable oil
2 Tbsp Onions (minced)
1 Tbsp Garlic (minced)
200 Grams Pork (minced)
1/2 Cup Mushrooms sliced (optional)
1/4 Cup Bell Peppers minced (optional)
Salt and Pepper
Ma Po Tofu Sauce (half packet)
1 Packet Tofu (silken)
2 Tbsp Fresh onion leaves (minced)
Directions:
- Add the oil in a heated pan.
- Cook the onions until translucent.
- Add the garlic and cook for a few seconds.
- Stir in the pork and cook for about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the mushrooms and bell peppers. Cook for about 2-3 minutes. You can actually skip this part as these are not part of the original recipe.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the Ma Po Tofu sauce and simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Carefully stir in the tofu (cubed). I made the mistake of getting the firm tofu instead of the silken one :p Tasted fine but I still prefer the silken one for this dish.
- Garnish with the onion leaves.
- Plate and Enjoy! :)
