Beef Pastrami
Ingredients:
500g Corned Beef
1 tsp white pepper
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp rosemary
1/2 tsp parsley
1/4 tsp cayenne
1 tbsp canola oil
1/2 garlic (minced)
Directions:
1. Pre-heat the oven at 225°F or 110°C. Prepare the spice mix. |
2. Mix the spices together to make a dry rub. |
3. Combine the olive oil and minced garlic. Leave aside for about 30 minutes. |
4. Rub the corned beef with the garlic oil. |
5. Cover all sides of the corned beef with the dry rub. |
6. Wrap the corned beef in aluminum foil. |
7. Wrap in another 2 sheets of aluminum foil. |
8. Bake in the oven for 3 hours. Let cool and refrigerate for about 10 hours to a day. |
9. Pre-heat the oven at 350°F or 180°C. Bake for about 10 minutes. |
10. Remove from the oven. |
11. Slice thinly. |
12. Heat pastrami slices for about 3-5 minutes. |
13. Plate and Enjoy! :) Above: Grilled white bread, pastrami, mustard, havarti cheese and pickled red cabbage with a side salad. |
